Подскажите, пожалуйста, что в данном предложении подразумевается под "blow-through"? Уместно ли использовать термин "продувка"?
As the gas velocity increased, the upper part of the slug body became more "frothy" and eventually blow-through occurred, leading to the transition to annular flow.

Контекст явно дает понять, о том, что никто не продувает ;-)
In slug flow, the effect of stratification was also noted. At high enough air velocities, where air is entrained in the body of the slug, it was noted that the air was not distributed homogeneously in the slug body but the air seemed to be collecting mostly in the upper half of the pipe. There was little air in the lower regions of the pipe. Consequently, as the gas velocity increased, the upper part of the slug body became more "frothy" and eventually blow-through occurred, leading to the transition to annular flow.

В том то и дело, что суть процесса понятна. Не могу подобрать соответствующий технически грамотный термин.

Внизу внутренней полости трубопровода скопился незначительный объем воздуха. Вследствие этого, по мере увеличения скорости газа, в верхней части снарядного потока происходит более интенсивное "вспенивание" и в итоге - воздух прорывается, в результате чего очевиден переход на кольцевой режим.
