Подскажите, пожалуйста, как в данном случае переводится racked back.
КНБК (компоновка низа бурильной колонны) была поднята на поверхность и установлена за_палец ???. Насколько я понимаю, за палец-то трубы устанавливают, а не КНБК. А может и палец-то там ни причем?

Drilling continued to 3055m in 5 hours. Due to persistently high torque of 30 ktf-lbs and ROP’s between 1.3 and 1.5 m/hr, the decision was made to pull the bit. The hole was circulated clean with a high vis pill and flow checked before pulling wet to 2713m. 25-40 klbs drag were seen from 2857-2847m and the string was worked through this interval. The remaining hole was in good condition with no excessive drag. The BHA was pulled to surface and racked back. The bit showed some chipped and worn cutters and there was some minor balling evident. No mechanical reason for the low ROP was evident, but the near bit stabilizer showed wear on the upper and lower side indicative of spiral hole.
The decision was made to run in hole with a rockbit to wipe any spiraled areas and ledges and generally clean up the wellbore. A MX-09 was run on the same BHA and run in hole to 3005m, encountering good conditions in the open hole. The bit was washed from 3005 to 3045m and reamed with 28 kft-lbs to 3055m where drilling recommenced. A depth of 3115m was reached in 21 hours with 10-38 klbs WOB, 80-110 rpm, 800 gpm at 3600 psi and 3-4 m/hr ROP. Stick-slip torque of 0 – 5 kft-lbs was seen until the top string stabilizer entered the new hole at which point the torque stabilized at 7-15 kft-lbs.
At 3115m the string torqued up and stalled at 30 kft-lbs. An attempt was made to pull the string with up to 100 klbs overpull, but required jarring several times before the string could be freed. Drilling resumed to 3265m in 46.5 hours with 10-47 klbs WOB, 80-130 rpm at 7-16 kft-lbs torque, 800 gpm at 3600 psi and 2-4 m/hr ROP. 3.75 hours were lost due to mud pump repairs during this section. The ROP dropped off to less than 2 m/hr for the last 4 hours of the bit run and the decision was therefore made to pull the bit.
The hole was flow checked and the string pulled wet to inside the 13 3/8” casing shoe without drag. After a function test of the blue pod the string was recovered and the BHA racked back. The BOP’s were scheduled for testing. During BOP testing the low pressure test on the annular failed again and pod leaks became worse. In an attempt to isolate the problem the blue pod and RBQ plate were pulled and the annular test repeated on the yellow pod. It tested successfully. The blue pod was recovered and upon inspection revealed 5 broken springs in the SPM valves. These were replaced and the blue pod re-run. The BOP Test was completed, and the wear bushing re-installed.
Ну в самый раз подставить примечание переводчика, насколько долог был промежуток меж 2мя racked back'ами. От этого и зависит, куда компоновку ставили ;-)

Так ведь на нее после первого подъема долото новое навесили и спускались до последней глубины, да потом еще 21 час бурили, да потом еще с насосом 3.75 часа возились и того часов 25 как минимум, вот и промежуток между 2мя racked back'ами больше суток. И куда компоновку ставили? Ну, я так понимаю, что компоновки сами за_палец не устанавливают. Тогда наверное на стеллаж, тем более что его как раз rackом ;) и называют. Или сея логика где-то нарушена?

См.: тот факт, что "was run on the same BHA" в течение суток, то и BHA могла бы быть установлена на стеллаж. Для переводов-пробников (полагаю, это самое оно - внести сумятицу так или иначе) самая идея может быть интерпретирована по-разному ;-)
Но это уже из области буквоедства.
