Thank you - can you emboss metal? Never come across knurling so must investigate. What about the word 'штамп' in the context of a technique rather than a mark. Is there a technique called 'stamp'?

I've come across "knurling". It means there are little bumps all over the surface of the (flat) object.

Ни о чем не говорит. Торевтика же описывается, а не канфарение. с чем увязать последнее?
