помогите, пожалуйста перевести эту фразу (в скобочках.Даю весь абзац с этой фразой:The mechanism for a residual phase saturation may be illustrated through two simplified REV-scale models. The first is the double pore or pore doublet model, a bifurcating path in the permeable medium, and the second is the snap-off model, a single flow path with variable cross-sectional area. Each model contains a degree of local heterogeneity: the doublet model, different radii flow paths, and the snap-off model, different cross-sectional areas in each of the flow paths.
не понятно,что такое snap-off model?

Чисто предположительно:
Snap-off model может соответствовать русскому понятию "секторная модель", т.е. модель, построенная для ограниченного участка (в силу ограниченных возможностей компьютера), которая затем масштабируется на все местрождение
