Здравствуйте! Я сейчас перевожу (с целью попрактиковаться в английском, то есть в большей степени для себя) одну документальную книжку. Действие происходит в Африке в конце XIX века, автор строит железную дорогу и охотится. И вот возникли две проблемы: одна охотничья, а другая - инженерно-математическая. Есть два небольших фрагмента, которые вызвали трудности (отмечены вопросительными знаками). Пожалуйста, у кого будет время и желание, подскажите, как перевести.

1. ТЕКСТ: I had with me my .303 and a 12-bore shot gun, one barrel loaded with ball and the other with slug.

2. ТЕКСТ (Автор ищет место для строительства моста): I started out and made a search up and down the river for the proper position for my temporary bridge. I repeated the whole operation time after time, but always with the same result. Eventually I came to the conclusion that there must be some mistake in the table of angles from which I had been working, so I started to work them out for myself and soon discovered a serious misprint. This being rectified in my calculations, I proceeded to lay out the curve again, when at last everything came out accurately and to my satisfaction.

После исправления вычислений я снова продолжил прокладывать кривую, и, наконец, всё, к моему удовлетворению, сошлось как надо.
