As is discussed in these guidelines, SOX testing of automated controls need only to be tested once a year. However, such annual testing can be substituted with UAT if the following two scenarios exist:
1) If the automated control was part of a development project that used the Method 1 Methodology (AET ***process Solutions Delivery Life Cycle), and there was no change to the system during the year, then the automated control would be asserted to with the previously asserted Effectiveness rating.
