Думаю, сработает. Встречалось мне где-то описательно (чуть ли не у Набокова), но не вспомню где именно. Еще можно у Достоевского посмотреть, вернее в критике на Сrime and Punishment - там тонны бумаги по-англ. исписали, должно найтись:)).
