Lately means в последнее время. You could say: sorry for the untimely response, or I should've gotten back (responded) to you much sooner. Lots of different ways to say it. )))

I usually roll with "I apologise for the late reply" or "My apologies for the late response". Either look fine to me.

Sorry, forgot to add: I use mine in business correspondence, meaning they are [more or less] formal, whereas you have "Извини". "Excuse my late reply" should fit your purpose somewhat better...
