Здравствуйте!
Подскажите пожалуйста как правильно перевести "вид носителя" на анлийский язык?
Контекст следующий: положения инструкции распространяется на конфиденциальную информацию независимо от вида носителя, на котором она зафиксирована.

"Информация, независимая от носителя" - такого и в оригинале нет.
А information carrier - вполне подходит
