| В сети полно ссылок на general-admiral, но исключительно на русскоязычных сайтах. А нейтивы упорно именуют Апраксина просто admiral. Это настолько непереводимая реалия? Or have I overlooked something? |
| in the US naval hierarchy there is no admiral general but that is a reflection of the culture, not language. i've seen admiral general used when denoting a russian officer. imho, i feel that a translation should reflect realities of the original not become amended to fit some model of the target language culture |
