"extension" - что имеется ввиду - доп. соглашение или продление срока проведения работ?

контеткст:

The Contractor shall perform the Work for a period of completing 3 (three) exploratory and/ or development wells by Company (the “Primary Term”). The Company shall have the option to extend the Primary Term on the same terms and conditions for an additional 3 (three) well(s) in extensions of one well each by giving the Contractor notice in writing no later than 10 days prior to the expiry of the Primary Term or extension thereof (as the case may be).

Зачем доп соглашение, если уже в данном договоре прописан вариант продления работ за 10 дней до окончания первоначального срока.
