If the unit is connected in a manner similar to the configuration of Figure 2, the second off-site power source is required, as a minimum, to have the capability of starting and operating the Class IS systems and related loads. In plants having more than one generating unit, the second off-site source may be capable of supplying the auxiliaries of all installed units. In nuclear installations, all of the unit auxiliary systems must be capable of transfer between either of tne off-site power sources. The Class IE equipment muse be capable of transferring between either of the off-site sources as well as the on-site auxiliary generator supply. |
