In order to minimize the transient torques on the motors, the backup breaker can be closed at either of the first two minimum points of Voc .Fast Transfer for Bus I can provide a transfer with Voc of 0.45. This is indicated as point A in Figure 7 and assumes a 5 cycle breaker closing time. In Phase Transfer on Bus I (point B) results in Voc of 0.6. Therefore, for Bus I, Fast Transfer should be used and yields the minimum value of Voc and the shortest transfer time.
