Based on the quality of environment and remaining natural resources Russia can be called one of the world's biggest natural reserves just as Brazil and Canada. According to UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) criteria Russia has about 11 million sq. km of pristine (wild) area that accounts for 65 percent of its own total territory and 18–20 percent of the overall intact area on Earth.
