Запустив игру, каждый из них подвергается воздействию, переводящему их игровые способности в реальные.

Имеется "официальный" перевод с IMDB.

After playing this game, each of them is affected with some force, turning their gaming abilities into real ones.

Моя попытка:

Having launched the game, they are all acted upon by something that brings their gaming superpowers into real life.

Покритикуйте, подскажите, плз, ибо сомнения не оставляют. Русский текст какой-то такой - как вода сквозь пальцы...

few options, for your judgment:

Having (launched/started/entered) the game, each of them gets (affected/influenced) by something that brings their (game/gaming) abilities into real life.

As (they/each of them) (starts/launches/enters) the game, something (happens/influences them/acts upon them) (that brings/bringing) their (game/gaming) abilities into real life.

or "powers" .. but i would not do "superpowers" - the latter is more suitable for countries with nuclear weapons =)

Не вижу преимуществ Вашего варианта перед "официальным". Тяжеловесные "Having launched the game" и "acted upon". Playing лучше, чем launched. Superpowers в оригинале нет. Более или менее слабое место официального варианта - слово force. Но не критичное.

Playing не лучше, т.к. в игру им не удалось поиграть - компьютеры сгорели во время инсталляции. И не вижу способа облегчить конструкции.

Ясно, спасибо за пояснение. Бред этот я, конечно, не смотрел и не собираюсь. А что именно мешает Вам использовать официальный перевод? Или взять те его части, которые менее тяжеловесны?

P.S. From my perspective, 'gaming abilities' is not the same as "игровые способности". Am I wrong?

"start the CD" - doesn't do it
"get affected by something" - too plain
"that makes real the skills they have in the video games" - grammatically questionable

consider:
When they start playing the game/[When the play/game starts], they, by some magical transference, get/acquire the powers of the characters they play in the game world.
