А в оригинале было вообще так:
1) tyrene series strongly acidic cation-exchange resin
2) strongly basic quarternary ammonium type anion exchange resin

Контекст:

Column ① and ④ are filled with 850 g of wet basis 001х7 tyrene series strongly acidic cation-exchange resin (cation resin for short), respectively.

Column ②, ③, ⑤ and ⑥ are filled with 650 g of wet basis 201х4 or 201х7 strongly basic quarternary ammonium type anion exchange resin (anion resin for short), respectively.

Both the above resins must be pretreatyed before use, or the purification effect will be too low to make water.
