что-то у меня с военной тематикой не получается, помогите, пожалуйста!!!

1. В конце фильма есть кадры - солдат крутит ручку наводки орудия.
2. ...войну он закончил сержантом в Берлине.

мой черновой вариант перевода:
There is a shot at the end of the film - a soldier is (turning a handle and???) aiming his gun at a target.
He finished the war as a sergeant in Berlin.

в первом предложении важно отразить, что он крутит ручку

А ведь felog-то прав. Не только UK, но и US источники дают “he ended the war in…”. Eдинственно, я бы, на свой вкус, написал «He ended the war in Berlin, as a sergeant”. Оно и по-русски, вроде, просится сначала в Берлине, а потом звание. Хотя - несущественно.

Вот только с "солдатом", который "крутит ручку наводки", не так все просто...
Как раз тот случай, когда в исходном тексте (высказывании) - чушь, а переводочник должен вывернуться и написать (сказать) правильно.
