somebody pliz help understand/translate this phrase(s). i've absolutely no clue!))

класс - political class, like working class

квас - traditional Russian non-alcoholic drink

заливать жажду - to quench one's thirst

не дурак (что-либо сделать) - to love doing something

the meaning of the whole thing is that (working) class likes drinking (alcohol) (rather than using non-alcoholic beverages like kvas)

This is a verse by V. Mayakovski named "To Sergey Esenin". There, the author kinda says to the great Russian poet: now you've got to stop drinking. You are becoming a drunkard because you spend your life with bohemian people; turn to simple workers (working class) and then you will have no time for boosing. And Esenin answers: why, do you really think the working class people drink kvas when they're thirsty? No, they love the boose, too!"
