Subject: 2Earl - proprietary information
Earl, I know what the term means but was just wondering whether, v razvitiye nedavnego obsuzhdeniya na forume, you could let me have chapter and verse on that one. Is this actually a strict term of art and what EXACTLY does it mean, in LEGAL terms? Thanx zaranee.

It depends on the jurisdiction. I suggest you pick one or two at most. I'm qualified in South Africa, United States (federal, Louisiana, and multistate upstream), and Russia. Let's be jurisdiction-specific, okay? Or we'll get swamped. Give me your pick, and I'll try and quote you chapter and verse.

I'd rather avoid England & Wales, though. First, I haven't read English law in depth. But then I am a TAX lawyer and have got rather limited experience in researching English law on that particular subject. Finally, English databases are organized so that research in areas outside your competency proves time-consuming. I wouldn't rather refer you to popular do-it-yourself legal stuff.

Thanx for that.
Let's say, US use.
I mean phrases like "this info shall be deemed to be proprietary info and shall not be...."
Pretty straighforward stuff, nothing fancy.

Good. Only it's time for packing off here in Moscow. I'll be back here tomorrow morning Moscow time. By the way, you seem to be a later bird. Where are you?

Thanks a lot for your time and effort, Earl.
I am not in Moscow.
