Если рейтинг, то лучше сказать moved up by 2 positions или что-то в этом роде, но не points.

that depends on the rating. it could be positions, places, spots, and yes, points. move up 2 points is more than ok. btw, "by" is unnecessary, as in move up 2 positions, NOT move up "by" 2 positions. :-).
