Господа! Кто-нибудь знает, что такое minority or disadvantaged status companies? Буду очень признательна за ответ.

XXX maintains 23 offices in the U.S. that support sales, marketing, service, research & development, logistics, and technical support. XXX proudly promotes American growth and employment by outsourcing 95% of our non-XXX produced products through subcontracting to over 100 U.S. companies. We are proud of the fact that 70% of these subcontractors are minority or disadvantaged status companies.

Прежде всего: subcontractor - субподрядчик; subcontracting - заключение контрактов с субподрядчиками.
Что касается minority companies, то, возможно, имеются в виду компании, которыми владеют(или в которых работают?) представители нацменьшинств. Но!! - это лишь "возможно.
Про disadvantaged status companies получается вообще полный бред: они гордятся тем, что часть их субподрядчиков является убыточными компаниями(?). Может, это социальная политика такая, направленная на поддержание лузеров?... Бр-р-р, хочется окунуть голову в таз с холодной водой.
Может быть, кто-нибудь что-либо более дельное присоветует.

Спасибо за ценное замечание! А про остальное... Вот в том-то все и дело! Я вертела и так, и сяк - и в любом случае какой-то бред получается.

"Disadvantaged" - You may be eligible if you are a member of a group of persons the Department considers as disadvantaged. The Department presumes certain groups are disadvantaged, including women, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans, Subcontinent Asian-Pacific Americans, or other minorities found to be disadvantaged by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Persons who are not members of one of the above groups and own and control their business may also be eligible if they establish their "social" and "economic" disadvantage. The Department notes, for example, that people with disabilities have disproportionately low incomes and high rates of unemployment, and that many may be socially and economically disadvantaged. A determination of whether an individual with a disability meets DBE eligibility criteria is made on a case-by-case basis. More information on how social and economic disadvantage is determined can be found in Appendix E to 49 CFR Part 26.

Вот что я откопала по поводу minority or disadvantaged status companies (теперь более-менее стало понятно по смыслу). Но как это назвать по-русски???

A Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) is a small business that is at least 51 percent owned by one or more individuals who are both socially and economically disadvantaged. SDB status makes a company eligible for bidding and contracting benefit programs involved with federal procurement. Businesses must be certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to qualify for SDB status.
A publicly-owned business may be considered an SDB if at least 51 percent of its stock is unconditionally owned by one or more such individuals and if the public company's management and daily business is controlled by one or more such individuals.

The SBA defines socially disadvantaged groups as those who have been, historically, subjected to "racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias" within the larger American culture. Identified groups include: African Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans and Subcontinent Asian Americans. Members of other groups may qualify if they can satisfactorily demonstrate that they meet established criteria.

Economically disadvantaged individuals are defined as those for whom impaired access to financial opportunities has hampered the ability to compete in the free enterprise system, in contrast to people in similar businesses who are not identified as socially disadvantaged.
