Subject: clearly, he'd screwed up again, and his brothers were going to chew his ass but good the phrase is taken from the book "Passion unleashed", and I'd like to ask you fellow multitraners to help me translate or at least understand the meaning of "but good" in this context
|
assuming "but good" is the end of the sentence: were going to chew his ass but good -- собирались устроить ему первокласную взбучку |
his ass but = his ass butt |

Лисуля, полностью согласна, что именно так и переводится Но вот, как именно переводить оборот "but good".... Baxter, i dont think it is "butt", cause then it should be "to chew his ass butt well", that is, an adverb must be used |
Do u mean: he kicked his ass butt good? Yes, that's exactly what I mean- #. 18:23 why, when I'm at home I sit on the couch via my ass-butt. WTF? ... Oh, and the ce before that questioned 'he kicked his ass but good.' Do u mean: he kicked his ass butt good? Yes, that's exactly what I mean- You can bet this dude had a woman cracking the whip on his ass butt good,2 do such a thing.Offur a near 50 year colation up on frags list ... |
but good idiom Emphatically, thoroughly, as in Ruth decided to clean up the whole yard but good. The word but in this colloquialism functions as an intensive. Also see and how. |
"but good" -- в данном контексте "по первое число", а в другом может быть что-то типа: - тщательно -- варианты?? |
whatever! there's no change to the meaning anyway |
I accept your apology. ))) (wink) Peace. |
