Subject: полная стерильность! А слышал/видел ли кто-нибудь, чтобы стерильная/нестерильная зоны иностранных аэропортов назывались sterile/non-sterile?Не режет ли это слух иностранцу и понятно ли ему, что мы вкладываем в это понятие? Как Вам такие варианты: pre-clearance/post-clearance area?? Заранее спасибо! |
| In my experience any area with restricted access is a STERILE ZONE, be it part of an airport, a section of refinery or any other controlled premises |

ИМХО транзитная зона? Transit area у них точно есть. "В минском аэропорту есть транзитная, так называемая стерильная зона, где пассажиры проходят регистрацию, отдыхают, могут даже перекусить, ждут своего рейса и летят дальше." |

OK, what is the definition of this sterile area / any context, please? Transit area is one of the specifics and may not necessarily align with pre/post clearance zone |

It looks like Sterile Zone is a recognized airport security term. Beginning April 14, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin enforcing a ban on lighters in airport sterile areas and onboard aircraft. A terminal was closed for four hours after a security officer asked a man to open his bag for a physical search following the identification of an item that looked like a handgun on the X-ray machine. When, following the search, nothing was found that remotely resembled a threat item, it was thought that perhaps the wrong bag had been pulled for search and the handgun had been taken into the sterile zone |
| в наших аэропортах стерильной считается "предпосадочная" зона (беспошленные магазины, кафешки и зал ожидания), в которую попадает пассажир после прохождения паспортного, таможенного контроля и контроля безопасности. Она закрыта для остальных пассажиров и провожающих. |
