Subject: Г. Р. Р. busin.

Hello.

I need help with the following abbreviation:
Г. Р. Р.

It is used on an official stamp, that says, "Закрытое акционерное общество Г. Р. Р."

What does "Г. Р. Р." stand for?

The company deals with finances, stocks, etc. The abbreviation is followed by a number, so I think it has something to do with a "state registration" number of some kind ("государственная регистрация"?). It's the second "Р." that puzzles me.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Вы же уже спрашивали, и вам, вроде, уже отвечали? Г.Р.Р. в данном случае, похоже, просто название Общества. Тем более, что аббревиатуры пишут без точек, например ГРР - геологоразведочные работы.
А что мешает написать ZAO GRR?

I asked again, because the answer (геологоразведочные работы) didn't help.

This is a company that deals with financial matters (stocks, etc.). It has nothing to do with geology!

The initials definitely have periods after them: Г.Р.Р. (not ГРР) and, most importantly, the letters are followed by numbers. They indicate some type of official number, probably a registration number. They are definitely NOT a part of the company name. (I know the full name of the company.)

I am required by my client to write out all abbreviations in full, so I can't just use "G. R. R."

I hope this information helps clarify the matter. If you can figure out what the letters stand for, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks again!

Sorry, then. Can't help. Abbreviation Г.Р.Р. (spelled like this) looks very Unrussian anyway.

I looked up the stamp samples and it looks like you're right - this abbreviation should stand for the name of some number. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find anything to decipher it reliably. It might be "Государственный реестр регистрации", but it's only a guess...

The standard stamps though have "ОГРН" before the number. Is the stamp very clear? Could it be that it's actually the "ОГРН" in your document?

The stamp is very clear. In fact, it appears on several documents, all of which definitely say Г. Р. Р., not ОГРН (a familiar abrreviation that I understand).

Actually something like "Государственный реестр регистрации" is quite plausible. The company is a registry company. Perhaps I'll send an e-mail to the company and ask them. (I'll post what they say if they reply.)

By the way, how did you look up stamp samples? That would be useful to know.

Again, thanks to all for trying to figure this out.

I just googled "шаблон печати" ЗАО and chose the pages of the stamp-making agencies like this one: http://www.eleon.ru/pechati/pechati_1/vidi_i_ceni what they have is for OOO, but apparently this applies to ЗАО as well...
