Господа, интересует такая вот инверсия:
"...we asked listeners to send 'em along. AND SEND THEM THEY DID."

"Johnson’s bookseller father died when the boy was still in school, and the surviving family did indeed fall into poverty. They may not have had far to fall, BUT FALL THEY DID."

"...thinks [John McCain], I guess, the only answer is drill, drill, drill. DRILL WE MUST, but it will take..." Joe Biden.

Если кто-то встречал, пож-та, приведите побольше примеров. И, по возможности, подскажите, где можно подробнее почитать о данном виде инверсии.

И ещё вопросик:
in 1492, in 1497 (read in both cases as: fourteen-HUNDRED-ninety-two, fourteen-HUNDRED-ninety-seven). - Не знаю, совпадение, наверно, но все остальные даты (допустим, 1435 читались "нормально": fourteen-thirty-five). Или "девяносто" - это особый случай? Т.е. понятно, что можно и без "hundred" прочитать, но когда его употреблять?

1492 and 1497 are really not exceptions, you can pronounce them as "fourteen-ninety-two" and "fourteen-ninety-seven", just like all other.

Я понимаю, что можно и "fourteen-ninety-two"... Мне интересно, почему и когда можно "fourteen-HUNDRED-ninety-two".

fourteen-HUNDRED-ninety-two is more formal. I can't think of any situation except, maybe, the wording of an invitation to a formal banquet, where you would say it with "hundred."
