We didn’t go far. It was only a three-minute ride to the dining hall, where the bar doubles as the front desk. It would’ve been a five-minute walk on foot, though an awkward one on the icy paths with our luggage, but this was the first sleigh ride of my life, and I was nearly as giddy as the 5-year-olds clambering down onto the snow.
