Subject: OFF: Translation pricing policy _ HELP!
Good morning everyone!

This may seem like a stupid question, but .....

I did a translation for a certain company which was completed and sent to them on Friday. Saturday they informed me that they have changed the original text and need the new translation ASAP. They neglected to mark in the new file which they sent the sections of the text which are affected.

In this case, is it alright to charge them the full price of a new translation (considering that it is an utter waste of my time to найти 10 отличии)? Or should I charge them only half the price? Or only for the sections which are different?

Help!

Thanks!
Susan

if it is Word, compare versions
that's not gonna take too much time

MS Word: tools -> compare and merge documents

Hmmm.... true. But the time is not what I am so worried about. What I should charge them for concerns me more.

Have you actually requested the customer to mark the changed sections? If so, what % of the text has changed?

If they didn't mark the differences - go ahead and charge the full price - mb that would teach them for the future

I asked them to. They didn't. And so I don't know yet which percentage has changed.

That is kind of what I am thinking.
