Subject: corsage Could you help me with one more sentence, please?... The family sat in two rows of chairs pulled close to the monitor, Rowland with a red, white and blue corsage and a box of tissues. ... ("Witnessing virtual nuptials" The Sun September 15, 2001) I'm interested in "red, white and blue corsage". I wonder if it is бутоньерка, букетик искусственных цветов or корсаж. The article is about a wedding ceremony broadcast via streaming video since the Rowlands (the groom's family) were unable to get a flight out of Washington state in the wake of terrorist attack. Thank you in advance. |

букетик искусственных цветов, that's for sure |
Причем не просто букетик, а тот который крепится на платье |
Thank you. And can a corsage be attached to the groom's suit? |

hope i am not too late... anyway... corsage - a small decorative group of flowers which a WOMAN pins to her clothes or ties around her wrist, usually for a special occasion. as for a groom's suit - Multitran gives quite a number of variants for "бутоньерка" if that's what you need :) |

БУТОНЬЕРКА, -и, ж. Цветок или букетик цветов, прикрепляемый к платью. Очевидно, к женскому платью... |
Well, the problem is Rowland "with a red, white and blue corsage" is, as far as I can see, a groom and so I'm puzzled... |
