if you look this word up in the dictionary you'll see that the word has this meaning, it sounds more natural than other words. I've heard it while talking to foreigners right in this meaning. |
rustik I didn't say it does not exist. I said it doesn't sound right which means it doesn't sound good. I don't like it. I think it sounds uneducated. |
Maybe: I has come to my attention that... |

Nina, to be honest I am not so at translating but I do hope that I'll be . I saw your comments and translatings a lot and I consider you to be translator but i can't deny the the thing which is right infront of ( I mean Dictionary) |

rustik I did not say you should ignore your dictionary. I brought up a matter of personal taste. I hate when people say "I have learned about...". I think that it sounds uneducated. If I want to use learn I normally say "I have learned that....". It sounds better, in my opinion. And please, don't. I am not a Translator with a capital T. There are a good number of people here to whom that title should go, though. I fell into this profession, that's all. But thank you for the compliment. |
I came to know that... |
