12. Type of Address Code (TAC). The TAC is a one-position numeric code as follows:

a. TAC 1 Mail Address. Used for mailing materiel and documentation. Also used for freight shipments if no TAC 2 (freight address) is listed and/or for billing if no TAC 3 (billing address) is separately indicated.

b. TAC 2 Freight Address. Used to identify the specific destination for freight shipments as published in the appropriate Terminal Facilities Guide (DLAH 4510 series) or other Military Service consignment information publications.

c. TAC 3 Billing Address. Used in conjunction with billing and invoicing if the address for this purpose is different than the TAC 1 mailing address.
