Я бы для начала убрал activated и употребил enabled/disabled. Затем заменил бы customizing на customization, а no more - на no longer. После этого убрал бы к черту clearance. И уж потом глубоко бы задумался о смысле жизни... |
The big idea here is as follows (don't need to make the already complicated message even harder to comprehend) : If you applied the Clear Background command to an object, you can no longer apply the same (command) settings to this object in the Overlapping Objects Display Customizing (Customization?) (I'm assuming this is the correct name) dialog box. |
Большое спасибо. |
имхо: The object which background has been already disabled or enabled exclusively/individually by Clear Background command can not be modified in Overlapping Objects Display dialog box. или If object background has been already disabled or enabled exclusively/individually by Clear Background command it can not be modified in Overlapping Objects Display dialog box. Если только это диалоговое окно так будет в переводе называться. |
adelaida: Just a piece of advice. The standard style for writing software user documentation is to use verbs in the 2nd person when addressing the user. In your case, it would be much simpler to translate if you followed the same rule and used it consistently. It would be also much easier to read and understand the translation, as the users of technical documentation in English are accustomed to a certain presentation style. I realize that your source text is way too cumbersome and so hard to understand to be able to produce a decent translation. Use active constructions as much as possible, and wherever applicable, try to convert a descriptive sentence in the indicative mood into a procedural one in the imperative, e. g., instead of saying Рекомендуется включить все установки перед ... for It is recommended to apply the settings before ... say Apply the settings ... I noticed a few times that you are trying to translate word for word. It doesn't work in this type of content, it only makes the translation more difficult to understand. Try to convey the idea as much as you can and don't get stuck on individual words. |
