возможно. скажу что эта фраза из сказки Tom Tit Tot. там говорится про девушку, которая в силу определенных обстоятельств оказалась перед выбором - или лишиться головы или спрясть пять мотков льняной нити. но последнего она не умела

delta, а ваш вариант мне понравился больше всего...скорее всего именно так и следует перевести словосочетания "she’d always been such a gatless girl".
