Which word (окружение or окружающая среда) is correct when we are not talking about environment as ecological environment?
I have a phrase from MSDS (of fluid for automatic transmission), chapter 10:

Harmful products of degradation.
The phrase is: The substance does not degrade

I think, here "температура окружения" is the inner temperature of machine components, and "температура окружающей среды" is ambient temperature.
