Вот слова "при их изготовлении" ..
Циммерман и Веденеева "Русс-англ научно-техн. словарь переводчика" предлагают "in the course of production", что не совсем верно ИМХО

А что в словаре так и написано: при изготовлении - in the course of production?

Вот, к примеру, про смазку с сайта производителя:
Bridon’s Endurance range of steel wire ropes are flooded during manufacture with Brilube 16 high performance lubricant. This serves two functions. It provides corrosion protection and also minimises internal friction between wires and strands while the rope is in service. The protection provided by the manufacturing lubricant is normally adequate to prevent deterioration due to corrosion during shipment, storage and the early part of the rope’s life.

Так что, ИМХО, просто manufacturing lubricant.
