Контекст:

Судя по образцам, отобранным боковым грунтоносом и по ГИС в кровле представлен песчаником слабосцементированным, даёт вытяжку лимонного цвета.

My translation:
Judging from samplings, recovered by the sidewall core sampler, and according to the well log survey the roof presents the semi-consolidated sandstone, it forms the colour of lemon.

The samples, retrieved by a formation sampler, and well logs suggest that the topmost part (of whatever you describe) consists of poorly cemented sandstone that produces a light-yellow (lemon-yellow) extract.

NB: roof - ни в коем случае. Кровля - это top. Подошва - base. Но здесь речь не о кровле, а о породах, залегающих в кровельной части (т.е. в самой верхней части разреза пласта)
