Nothing is extracted. Usually there are two types of investment in a country: "greenfield" and "brownfield". In a greenfield investment, the investor buys an empty oplot of land and builds a new factory for production. In a "brownfield" investment, the investor finds an existing factory and converts it. This is usually the case when there are no emply spaces left to buy. |

Спасибо. Из ваших объяснений и моего общего контекста я понял, что речь идет о "местрождениях в последней стадии разработки", т.е. о старых, в значительной мере выработанных местрождениях (наверное, частичный синоним "mature fields"). В моем тексте их предлагается to re-develop с применением новых технологий. Видимо образный ряд таков, что это не green fields, а уже brown, т.е. увядающие. |
