A good example of a facilities accrual that may be difficult to identify is reimbursable property taxes on operating leases. This activity relates to lease or sublease situations in which the company is the lessor and, therefore, owes property taxes on a building or facility. The key point for both facilities and other service accruals is to watch for situations in which the company has received goods or services that it has not yet paid for.
