* Once a defect has been recorded with its deferral status, it can be tracked in

and closed.
* A defect can be closed by assigning a corrective action to it. A corrective action
can be one of two things:
• It could be a maintenance task currently assigned to the aircraft or a new
maintenance task created on the aircraft.
• It could be free form text – this would be used in cases of simple/generic
defects (e.g. a tear in the carpet)
