This plant, japanese lantern/chinese lantern

is it simply японский фонарик in Russian, or is this a "conversational russian" name and there is a more "botanical russian" name for it? (the scientific classification i have, but i am wondering if everyone calls it yiponski fonarik, or if there is another name)

that's right "Physalis", a kind of tomato

and is yiponski fonarik incorrect. no one will know what i am talking about? or do you also call it that? (I ask becasue in English we can call it either chinese or japanese, though chinese is more common)

in russian we usually say "китайский фонарик" or "физалис"
the name "японский фонарик" is rarely used for this plant, I gather
