However, in Tricone rock bits extraordinarily high normal bearing loads (weight on bit) with the addition of impact loading can result in contact between the head and cone bearing surfaces. Propriety grease formulations have been developed to minimize this contact and maintain lubricant films on the bearing surfaces thereby reducing wear rate and preventing catastrophic failure of the bearing. These greases are comprised of additive combinations, thickener systems, and base fluids formulated to increase bearing load carrying capacity as well as resist lubricant breakdown in the high temperature downhole conditions.

1) propriety - скорее всего, относится к тому, что формулы являются собственностью разработчика. То есть, речь идет о том, что были разработаны собственные grease formulations.

2) grease formulations. Это не формулы смазывания. Это "смазки", "консистентные смазки". Слово формула, тут, скорее, имеет значение "состав." Я бы или пропустил вообще, оставляя "новые смазки", или выразился в духе "новые смазывающие составы".
