Подскажите, пожалуйста, как перевести поизящнее

зал буквально утонул в аплодисментах и криках "Браво"

But! you can find stuff online like "At Bursted Manor we have..." or "Bursted Wood Primary School".. . - guess people invented this adjective - language is constantly changing. Where did you hear it?

On the other hand look what else I found:
Burst
Burst is used in both present and past tenses. (He burst all of the balloons.)
Bursted and busted are not words. This is from english grammar website.
