По результатам предварительной рекогносцировки участка работ были выявлены следующие особенности ландшафта, затрудняющие производство изысканий:
- рельеф изыскиваемых площадей холмистый, сильно расчлененный, а склоны холмов, в основном, крутые и обрывистые, скалистые;
- большинство склонов выпуклые, голые, нередко с уступами;
- на вершинах и склонах холмов имеются крупные валуны и глыбы, в подножии и во впадинах между холмами отмечаются скопления валунов и глыб;
- понижения между холмами заняты болотами и озерами.
Принимая во внимание вышеуказанные обстоятельства, было принято решение о строительстве автодороги для обеспечения проезда техники на площадку.

Based on the results of the preliminary reconnaissance of the work area the following peculiarities of the landscape, HAMPERING surveys performance, were found out:
- the relief of the surveying area is hilly and SEVERE, and hill-sides are generally STEEP and SCARP, rocky;
- the most of the hill-sides are BOWED, NAKED, often with LEDGES;
- there are big boulders and rocks on the hilltops and hillsides, and clusters of round stones and rocks have been registered at foot of hills and in the HOLLOWS between the hills;
- LOW between hills consist of bogs.
Taking into account all the above mentioned circumstances the decision about construction of the motor road to provide access of the equipment to the site was made

если менять "reconnaissance" - то на "initial survey"

reconnaissance - вполне кошерно, только "прелиминари" от него надо убрать, поскольку он по-сути всегда предварительный.
