если я например, хочу употребить слово "отдаться"

1) в сухом полицеиском отчете, например:
"преступник утверждает, что пострадавшая сама ему отдалась"
2)в каком-то романтическом контексте:
"...ля, ля,.. и я ему отдалась"

быть может, подойдет глагол yield [up]

she yielded herself [up] или как-то так.

В первом примере, имхо, можно чего-нибудь типа mutual consent :-)

Ну конечно же consent! Есть даже термин age of consent. А в романтическом, Витторио, чем Вам не нравятся вариации на тему lovemaking and having sex? Это мы, русские переводчики, крутимся как ужи переводя ваши любовные романы, потому что эти слова у нас до сих пор табу.

She gave her consent/I gave my consent - this is entirely devoid of romanticism

She wanted it - something a criminal might say in his defense.
She asked for it
She begged for it , etc.

The possibilities are endless. There are so many 'shades'. Same, if not more, for romantic expressions:

I surrendered to him/I threw myself at him/I let him have his way with me/ etc.

if it's a no-frills police report, then chances are they will simply say that they had consensual sex

If on the contrary you want it to sound "romantic", then to all kath suggested, I'd add "(she) succumbed to..." :-))
