Пожалуйста, помогите перевести фразу "drill drift rounds on".

Выражение встречается в следующем контексте:

The vein cannot be drifted on with trackless equipment because the normal development widths are at least 10 feet. As soon as one drifts wider than the vein ore width; the stope walls unravel all the way to the top of the stope while the broken ore is pulled out of the stope. Dilution of 200 – 300% is then common. The solution is to drive the drawpoints just through the vein then drill drift rounds on ore just to vein width.

Цири, а как Вы сами перевели фразу
"The solution is to drive the drawpoints just through the vein then drill drift rounds on ore just to vein width" вплоть до неппоняеного "drill drift rounds on" ?

Этого можно избежать, если пройти дучки непосредственно сквозь жилу и затем
отбивать руду точно на мощность жилы.

drift rounds здесь, имхо, циклы буровзрывных работ, но, по-моему, можно это опустить, т.к. это укладывается в "отбойку".
