Subject: OFF: once more i raise the topic I asked this maybe a year ago but i wanted to ask for it again:a RANDOM WORD button in the dictionaries.... wouldn't that be great? We could browse for new words.... like when you have nothing better to do in the metro but read a dictionary... would be nice to do it using MT for a change and at work when you are waiting for mornons to get back to you.... who is for a random button? |
huh? |

Sorry, а кто такие mornons? Можно, кстати, открывать книгу-словарь наугад. Заодно почуствовать давно забытый запах страниц... Если, конечно, нет аллергии на бумажную пыль :) |
gost no no ... i have plenty of books at home and no allergies (come on, i used to restore antique books, definetely no allergies) morons = polni idioti and unfortunately i cant open a book here - in the office there are no books... just contracts |
Nina - you see, it's rather typical feature of almost all online dictionaries. mt is so unique and freaky to not follow others. But we discussed some kind of stats to show for site visitors like number of today's user contirbuted words etc. Perhaps "random word" could be one of that items but I'm not sure. |

What's the need for this feature? You can just type in random words that you don't know the translation of. |
Nina got me worried for a second there, why -- I asked myself -- would mormons want to get back to her?.. |
"What's the need for this feature?" -- I've been trying to puzzle this one out for almost a year now... and still trying.) |

Would be a great feature, except that (i) I am swamped in paper dictionaries I have always used for this purpose, and (ii) at my end of the cable, MT is readily available either early mornings, when I am too sleepy for this sort of pastime, or closer to midnight, when I am too busy working or having fun........ |
