Thank you, I know pretty well what validity means. When we write: the Contract is valid from the date of signing hereof blah, blah, blah till the date on which .... blah, blah (e.g., the final payment is credited to the Creditor's account), it means that the TERM of the contact is from the date of signing to the date of crediting.
Sure, the terms are not interchangeable but still, in some contexts they mean almost the same.

Пример из Fine Art Gallery Wording (Оригинальные условия полиса страхования художественной галереи):
"All other protections provided for the safety of the insured property shall be maintained in good order throughout the currency of this Insurance..."
