Выражение встречается в следующем контексте:

If, during the Term of any Transaction, a Designated Event has occurred and is continuing, then the party which is not the Affected Party may by notice to the other party accelerate the Repurchase Date of the relevant Transaction to any Business Day within five Business Days of the effective date of the notice.

вроде, вы не первый день переводите, а такие вопросы задаете!
ищите определение в своем тексте, термин-то "капитализирован". Кто ж кроме вас с контекстом знает, кто и как назначил какое-то там событие?

Вот еще контекст, но все равно не знаю, как это сказать на грамотном русском:

"Designated Event” means the occurrence of any one or more of the following:

(1) an Act of State, or

(2) an Event of Sovereign Risk, or

(3) an Expropriation Event, or

(4) a Foreign Exchange Event.
