actions in support of the forces
"Actions in support of the forces" means civil-military type of actions aimed at facilitating the achievement of operational missions prior to, during or after the commitment. They deal with the following: 1. relations with the civilian authorities and the administration in place; 2. knowledge and use of existing local ressources; 3. legal advice within the framework of the forces; 4. local operational communication; 5. coordination of the measures relating to the PoWs.
CIMIC function
"Environment" operational function, the "CIMIC" function groups all actions carried out by the forces in the theater, designed to take into account the interaction between these forces and their civil environment, as well as attaining both the civil and military objectives. They aim at providing further solutions to the purely military courses of action, thus participating in the success of the operational or strategic objectives defined by the mission.
"logistic support" function
Operational function covering all the activities enabling the Army's formations to fulfill their missions in peace, crisis or war time, by providing and administrating the required resources. The logistic support function covers the 12 following activities: 1. administration
