it doesn't have to be that way (ART Vancouver); it shouldn't be this way (One time this past summer my wife and I were on a patio and one homeless man came over to ask for change, we told him we didn't have any (everyone is cashless for COVID) and he started berating us. Second presumably homeless man comes up and tells the first man to leave us alone, be nice to people, and gives him what money he has to leave us alone.
