command system
mil., logist. All doctrine, methods, individuals, procedures, equipment or facilities organised in order to enable a commander to assume command of his/her unit. The command system can be limited to the hierarchical level of the considered commander for instance: level-3 command system = CP of the combined arms brigade or it can also include the subordinate command levels; for instance: the command system of the brigade taking into account the CP of the combined arms brigade but also the battalion CPs and the liaisons between its various command organisations and the neighbouring units. Liaisons towards the echelons above have to be organised by this latter echelon. (FRA)
